FDMC-Vietnam May Treasures:

Lessons in faith and humility

     Last May 18, FDMC-Vietnam mounted Treasures at Tan Dinh Church, Ho Chi Minh City. All FDMC-Vietnam chapters (Airport, Anh Phu-An Binh-Hoang Diue II and Phu My Hung) were represented during the said event, which started at 10 a.m.

     Fr. Peter Cung, who is becoming the community’s regular mass celebrator, once again led the Sunday mass. During the homily, Fr. Cung reminded the community how it is so loved and blessed by God because it was not part of those who suffered from two major natural disasters: the Myanmar cyclone and China earthquake in Sichuan province.

FDMC-Vietnam holds 2nd Treasures

     After weeks of planning, the second Treasures in Vietnam finally happened on April 20 in Tan Dinh Church (the pink church) at Ba Trung St. , Dist. 1 Ho Chi Minh City.

      But just as the activities were about to start, a brownout occurred. So, everybody gathered and started to pray. After a few minutes, the parish generator was switched on and power was restored.

    Another problem came when the projector failed to work. So, the mass started at 10:45 a.m. – with Fr. Peter Cung celebrating it – without the projector. And then, just before the Gospel reading, the projector started to work again and the rest of the day went on smoothly, as planned.

FDMC-Vietnam holds Mercy Sunday outreach

     In celebration of the Feast of the Divine Mercy last March 30 2008, FDMC-Vietnam conducted an outreach to Orphelinat Phu My orphanage in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chin Minh City. The outreach was the second for the community, the first being in December for its Christmas gift-giving activity.

FDMC-Vietnam holds first Treasures

 

     FDMC-Vietnam held its first Treasures monthly fellowship on March 9, 2008 at Rm. B102 Archdiocesan Pastoral Center 6 Bis Ton Duc Thang Dist 1, Ho Chi Minh City. A total of 61 people including children attended the celebration.

     The program started at 9:30 a.m. with a Holy Mass presided by Fr. Peter Cung. After the Mass, Fr. Cung prayed over and extended his blessings to all February and March birthday celebrators.

FDMC-Vietnam holds 1st bonding activity

     FDMC-Vietnam had its first bonding activity last Jan. 27 at An Binh Villa Clubhouse, Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City with Sis. Peng Palmera, Sis. Liezl Dawa and Bro. Don Dawa facilitating.

    

     It was a day of fun and excitement as members from Phu My Hung, Airport Area, An-Phu and An-Binh gathered to break barriers, know each other and learn from group activities.
