Matthew 13:44-46

The Parable of the Hidden Treasure
 44"The kingdom of heaven(A) is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy(B) he goes and sells all that he has and(C) buys that field.
 
The Parable of the Pearl of Great Value
 45"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46who, on finding(D) one pearl of great value,(E) went and sold all that he had and(F) bought it.

A Jewel in the Palace: The Search for Treasure Continues

    Jesus taught His disciples about the kingdom of heaven through parables. Jesus made use of these to explain to them what it is like to have the most important treasure in life. Parables invite us to think about and reflect about that treasure's meaning in our life. One way to understand it is to take a look into the author's perspective.

    The two parables are identical. Two men found something so valuable that they sold everything just to own that most important thing. "Ipinagbili ang lahat, iniwanan ang lahat-lahat para sa natatanging yaman."
The disciples were the first listeners of Jesus, that's why when they learned that secret of the kingdom of heaven, they left everything and followed Jesus.
