Matthew 12:46-50
46While he was still speaking to the people, behold,(A) his mother and his(B) brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him.[a] 48But he replied to the man who told him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" 49And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! 50For(C) whoever(D) does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

I earned in grade school that our first community is our family. The people that we love the deepest are probably part of our family. In a family unit, there is the potential for the most fulfilling and closest relationships that are possible here on earth. Perhaps it is an objective for every married couple to raise children and build a family of their own. Sometimes in the closeness of family there is also an inherent danger. If trust is broken or if some bitterness arises, those relationships that have the greatest potential for love also have the potential to inflict the deepest wounds. Nobody can hurt you like a member of your own family. Because you entrust them a part of your heart, you are most vulnerable to pain from those who are closest to you. Read more...
