by Bro. Jhay Gernale The Young Friends in Action (YFA) held its 7th Youth Prayer Meeting last July 19, 2009 at Lay Force Chapel, San Carlos Seminary, Guadalupe, Makati City.
The activity served as the bonding and fellowship of 48 attendees from different chapters (Caloocan, Pasay, Malabon, Pasig, Las Piñas, Villamor and Makati-Main).
The activity started with the welcome remarks and a game led by Sis. Camille Balite (Pasay), with chocolate bars as prizes. Then Sis. Jelaine Austria (Villamor) led the joyful dance, keeping the spirit of joy and friendship alive among the members.
It was followed by the gospel reading led by Bro. Philip Paras (Pasig), while Bro. Jhay Gernale (Pasig) gave a short insight and lifted the spirit of the crowd, as they gave their praises and thanksgivings to our Creator.
Then, Bro. Francis Dimapilis, with Bro. Macky Hubilla (both from Pasig) playing the guitar, sung the song “I’m Yours” relating it to Sunday’s topic entitled “The Call,” with the lyrics:
“I won’t hesitate, no more, no more It cannot wait, I’m Yours! There’s no need to complicate Our time is short This is our fate I’m Yours!” With this, Bro. Cris Javier imparted to the youths the three important roles of a Christian, as God continuously calls the youth to be workers in His vineyards - to be a Prophet, a King and a Priest. He said that one of the youth's roles is to proclaim the word of God, while stressing the passage from Mt. 20:28, “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many”, inspiring the youth to continue serving and committing their time to the Lord. The activity ended with a fellowship, as the youth members greeted the birthday celebrants for the month of July. Sis. Chelsea Buen (Pasig) served as moderator of the activity. |
