Jumping for joy at FDMC-Vietnam CLSE

by Sis. Elaine Sangre

Looking forward to a spiritually enhanced and renewed life, 49 participants jumped for joy upon completing FDMC-Vietnam's 3rd  Catholic Life in the Spirit Experience (CLSE) seminar at Catholic Cultural Center, Bis Ton Duc Thang, Ho Chi Minh City last June 21.

Vietnam     The seminar started with a bible enthronement led by Bro. Tony delos Santos and a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Peter Cung. The Eucharistic celebration was offered for the salvation of believers and members of the Church undergoing severe tests and trials.

Before the concluding rites, Fr. Peter blessed all fathers for it was Fathers’ Day that day, as well those celebrating their birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Bro. Raul Rodil also received a special blessing for being chosen to be part of the core group.

Bro. Lito Dawa was the first speaker in the seminar, first introducing the Friends's profile and the Divine Mercy devotion, then taught the participants how to praise and worship the Lord. He also discussed "God's Love."

While having lunch, the participants formed groups and shared insights on "Salvation" and "God’s Love," guided by facilitators. Confessions were held simultaneously.

Bro. Tony delos Reyes came in next, discussing "Receiving God’s Gift" and "Baptism of the Holy Spirit." Miracles really did happen as each participant received and accepted Jesus as his God and Redeemer.  One of the participants, Sis. Rose Melendres, experienced the gift of tongue.

Sis. Peng Palmera commissioned the participants to be the “light and salt of the earth.” They were asked to look at the image of Jesus and make a reflection after looking their at their own image at the mirror. The participants were given rosaries, rosary guides, chaplets and novenas of Divine Mercy.

Meanwhile, Bro. Bot Balbero imparted "Growth" and "Transformation," greatly delighting the crowd with his impressive voice characterization. Sis. Peng assisted, by Bro. Lito Dawa, distributed the certificates to the graduates, ending the seminar.
