A Call to Community:

Balancing Your Life

Before the world began, there was balance. When man fell to sin, that balance was lost.

If man creates an agenda separate from God, he'll never have a balanced life. The Lord wants balance in our life. If God asks us, which will we choose, ministry or family? This question is not biblical, this question is wrong. God can't turn down one good thing for another. Family is good, ministry is good. They can't be separated from each other.

If one starts a selfish agenda, imbalance is created and the balance in life is lost.

We all live to work, but God is a good provider. When Jesus ascended to heaven, He didn't tell His disciples He will have an imbalanced life. In whatever state we're in, if we're measured, we'll be found lacking. We always say that there's something we still want to do in life. When we know we're lacking, there is imbalance. The key to knowing your balance is when you've lost it.

Jesus made the final point when He left; He left the balance - the Great Commissioning (Mt. 28:19-20). This is the most difficult thing to do, but is available to all. God called us to be part of the ministry and the  mission. This is God's idea of a balanced life.

Who among us here will be tough? Biblical laws are all about gaining a new quality and dimension of life.

We were created for the mission. Our purpose is to share God's message through evangelization. It's important for God to seek the lost. That should also be important to us.

We were created to be like Christ. Our purpose is to grow to maturity through discipleship. We will invade a battleground, not a playground. For our weapons to be effective, they must be sharpened and polished through prayers and training.

We were formed for God's family. Our purpose is to identify with His Church through fellowship. Being part of a community, God will build us.

We were planned for God's glory, so our purpose is to love Gog through worship.

The ministry is something we always share with one another. Why do we have work in the community? God is not interested in our work. No matter what we do, it's not effective. God is interested in the person. God wants us to be here so we will be in the ways of goodness, so that we will be corrected.

If God gives you a part in the ministry, rejoice. This is an opportunity to change. It is a good thing.

If work is important to God, He'll just send His angels to do it. We only attract the kingdom of heaven if we operate according to a particular system: the Christian community.

If we operate according to that system, all we can ever produce is what is natural to that system. We will attract whatever system we are a part of. We are called not to conform to this world but to God's will (Rom. 12:2). Sometimes, we have to do the things that we hate to create something we love.
