Jn. 12:1-11
H ave you experienced how to be pampered? We may think that God's servants only know sufferings and persecutions. That's why many are not inclined to serve the Lord. It is as if when one has given up his freedom for this cause, it's the end of his happy life.
Not so, as today's Gospel tells us. The life of Jesus was of untold sacrifices, but at one point in His short earthly life, He felt extra special when Mary poured precious oil on Him.
Even the Lord appreciated this indulgence, not feeling it's too way off for one who's bound to make an offering of himself for all. Indeed, a servant is marked for many great things, including special treatments here on earth. That shows how God honors His people. If they can receive affection here, how much luxurious will the reward be after all the labor is done! Let's open our hearts to see the little, happy surprises that affirm God's love for us, His servants.
Prayer:
Father of great blessings, anoint Your servants and pour out Your attention unto them, so that their lives will speak of Your goodness to all like a sweet fragrance. Amen. |
