Jn. 6:30-35 – “So they said to him, ‘What sign can you do?  Our ancestors ate manna in the dessert, as it is written:  He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ So Jesus said to them, 'Amen, amen, I say to you, it was Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.  For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.'”

•Hunger and thirst are signs of life; a good appetite is a sign of a normal healthy life.

•We need food to live. However, what we eat or drink becomes a part of us.  We become what we eat.

•Being truly alive means the person should be living due to and according to the Word of God, responding to God by love, trust and obedience.

•The world feeds on a different kind of hunger:  Love/Security/Significance.  The world is hungry for real life, which comes from a relationship with God.

•We need food for our spirit, food that sustains and gives life. Jesus is the source of eternal life; no more thirsting, being hungry or dying.

Jn. 6:48-51 – “I am the bread of life... I am the living bread which came down from heaven,  If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.”

•Eating His flesh and drinking His blood is believing.  Put our faith and trust in Him.

•There is no substitute for the True Bread.

Is. 55:2 – “Why spend money on what does not satisfy? Why spend your wages and still be hungry?”

•We need Jesus every day to sustain us.  The Bread of Life is a daily provision.  Otherwise, we will be unable to draw upon the resources of the Savior.

Mt. 6:11 – “Give us today our daily bread.”

•Jesus is our provision.  He gives us everything we need.

Jn. 10:10 – “I came that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”

Ps 23:5 – “ I will fill your cup until it runs over.”

•Be wise, be hungry for righteousness and enjoy God’s favors!

Ps. 34:8 – “Taste and see the goodness of the Lord!  Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.”

Do we hunger and thirst for God as a matter of life and death? Are we eating enough of the Bread of Life?  Enough to give life to others?

Are we trying to live our lives without Jesus?  Are we trying to go through it all alone?

Be filled with Jesus and we shall be satisfied with His goodness. Come, believe and eat!
