Taking Care of God's Blessings

Mt. 21:33-43, 45-46

G
od the Father has always been generous to mankind. He built, crafted and put together all our needs before creating us. All that He desires is to give us a fruitful life to enjoy with Him and to be shared with our fellowmen.

Various blessings were given to us to be cultivated and to be taken cared of. God must be seen in all the riches in heaven He bestowed upon us. And to make sure that we will become a fruitful and faithful steward of His wealth, He sent His Son in our midst to lead us in all our undertakings. Unfortunately upon receiving the Lord’s bountiful blessings, we set aside Jesus, our Savior and giver of life. And we start isolating our lives away from Him.

People are too proud of their achievements and they have high regards for themselves. They failed to recognize that it was the Lord who made them successful. The truth is without God’s love and mercy, they cannot accomplish anything in their lifetime.

In the parable of the tenants, Jesus said that if we fail to yield a harvest in His vineyard, “The kingdom of heaven will be taken from you and given to a people who will yield a harvest.”

The Lord will take away everything that we have, including our lives, if we continue to disobey His will. Jesus emphasizes that He must reign in our lives and that we continue to allow Him to direct our lives. We can enjoy and reap heavenly rewards if Jesus is the One who runs our daily affairs.

Friends, being one with God means that we must come to see the world as God sees the world. We must respond to it with the same care, the same commitment to love our less fortunate brothers and sisters.

Whether you are an executive, a businessman, a working citizen or an ordinary person, God must be seen in everything you do. We have to take care of all the blessings that God has given us whether big or small. After all, we have the same eternal reward, to join the Lord in His kingdom.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for all the blessings that You have generously given us. May we put to good use these blessings in encouraging more people to be reconciled and united with You. Amen.
