To Our Healer We Go

by Honey Jardinico-Oasan

Mk. 6: 53-56

T
he people followed Jesus wherever He went.  They came to wherever He was, bringing with them sick people.  They wanted Jesus to heal them.

Nowadays, I have witnessed the same scenario whenever there are healing rallies and gatherings being organized. Throngs of people from everywhere troop to the area with the same purpose – to be healed of their sicknesses, to be freed of their troubles and to be made whole again by the Lord.

There is really no difference between the people of Jesus’ time and now.  Whenever the motivation is healing, expect them to come at once.  No more need of begging, convincing and persuading them.

Because we now live in a wounded world, almost everyone wishes to be healed.  Each of us carries certain brokenness within us and every chance at fixing the damage is a welcome opportunity.

Friends, Jesus healed then. And He heals now.  We are right to come to Him.  For His love comforts us.  His mercy assures us.  His forgiveness brings us back to where we should be – in the loving embrace of the Father.

Come to Him today.  Seek Him out and follow Him wherever He wants to perform His healing for you.  Do not be afraid.  He will meet you where you are and heal your heart, your life, your soul.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, come to me and heal me. With all humility, I submit myself to You, our greatest healer. In Your power I live. Amen.
