T he most powerful and effective tool in proclaiming God is to become a witness of His love and mercy. And each of us is commanded to be just like that - become witnesses of Him. To tell others about our own experience of the love of Christ.
When I entered the ministry, one thing is impressed in me that have become my guiding light to this day - “Be the salt of the earth and the light of the world."
Truly, what we make of our lives is a reflection of how much love we have for our Lord. We can become effective witnesses of Christ through the life we live, by the things we say, the attitude we take on and the actions we demonstrate.
An example of a transformed life will make people hungry for God’s love. What we speak of goes a long way in our witnessing for Christ. Our attitude towards the daily grind of life - work, family, study, relationships, social responsibility - will become basis of how we live our faith.
When we witness for Jesus, we will see God open the hearts of many people, and they will give their lives to Jesus. However, in our witnessing for Him, we will encounter strong opposition and experience persecution. But we should not fear, we have the Holy Spirit to guide, protect, comfort and teach us. To give power and boldness to all His witnesses including you and me!
Strongly desire the Spirit. Thirst for the Spirit. Receive the Spirit. It is only through the grace of the Holy Spirit that we can become effective witness of Christ.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, guide us into living our lives that would lead others to You. Let our baptism and the strength of the Spirit be our inspiration for following You and doing Your commands. Amen. |
