FDMC-Pasig conducted its SoupER Friends feeding program last July 20, 2008 at the Sta Clara de Montefalco Parish Function Hall, Caniogan, Pasig City .
A total of 170 people were served with "pork giniling" and rice through the efforts of the Sta. Clara Parish and FDMC-Pasig with no less than "Nanay" Nene Guinto (Sis. Liza Guinto's mother) as this month's principal benefactor.
It was a thanksgiving of sorts for Nanay Nene as the feeding coincided with her 70th birthday.
The program started with an opening prayer, followed by the joyful song and dance number led by Bro. Jay Gernale and Sis. Renee Lou Reyes, FDMC-Pasig Youth members, who likewise, served as moderators for that day.
Then followed a series of parlor games which the children really enjoyed.
Next came was the spiritual nourishment part of the program where selected members of the community gathered the children into groups as they talked about the topic "How could they, as little children, be good seeds for others." During the group discussion, the kids were encouraged to speak up and most notable of which was the revelation of an 8-year-old boy.
At his young age, the boy already had an ill feeling towards his father for abandoning them. As the children were able to finish their meal, a birthday banner was unleashed for Nanay Nene, who was unable to hold back her tears as she said it was the happiest birthday of her life . The program ended with a picture-taking portion and a closing prayer, again by Bro. Jay.
